Mike Lerario, USA (Ret)
MIKE LERARIO is a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel having served 23 years on active duty in Airborne and Ranger Infantry units and joint assignments with Joint Task Force Full Accounting and the Joint Special Operations Command. Mr. Lerario’s Army career includes command assignments through battalion level and staff assignments as operations officer at battalion, brigade and joint staff levels and he has multiple combat tours in both Afghanistan and Iraq. As a consultant, Mr. Lerario worked extensively with the Joint Improvised Explosives Device Defeat Organization (JIEDDO) and the Asymmetric Warfare Group (AWG) as an operational advisor and trainer for Counter-IED (CIED) and Attack the Network (AtN) programs for NATO. He returned to Afghanistan in 2013 to assist in the training and development of the Afghan National Army Special Operations Command (ANASOC) and in 2014 to serve as Senior Command Advisor to the Commander of the ISAF Joint Command (IJC). He also serves as an Adjunct Researcher for the RAND Corporation and serves as Adjunct Faculty at Fayetteville State University teaching courses in Organizational Leadership for the MBA program. He is co-author to the Army Research Institute publication: Capacity Building in the Operational Environment: Stories and Lessons Learned and co-author on several RAND research papers spanning a myriad of subjects including human performance, coalition interoperability, future close air support, reconnaissance and security for forced entry operations and autonomous vehicles.
